Job description

The primary duty of a Pond Operator consists of two components, the technical and customers service. A Pond Assistant typically supports the daily operations and maintenance of a fishing pond facility. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Pond Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the pond's water quality, temperature, and other environmental factors to ensure the health and well-being of the fish. Ability to go into the pond, to adjust water flow etc.

2. Fish Care: Monitoring, and handling fish from pier. Detection and timely reporting of any signs of disease or stress.

3. Equipment Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and repairing pond equipment, such as pumps, washing of filters, and aeration systems.

4. Water Quality Monitoring: Helps to monitor water quality parameters, such as pH, ammonia, oxygen levels and various water perimeter.

5. Tracking of records: Assist in maintaining accurate records of pond operations, fish health, and water quality.

6. Customer Service: Provide assistance to customers, effective communication such as answering enquiries about rate, type of fishes within the pond etc, unhooking angler’s catch, packing fishes for customer, selling fishes, and providing information about the pond.

7. General Labor: Perform general labour tasks, such as cleaning equipment (IBC, Boats, and any other items which belong to the pond), grounds maintenance, and waste management within the compound and inside the fishing pond such as vacuuming the pond.

8. Digital media awareness: Capturing angler’s catch moment and posting in social media for awareness.

9. Knowledge of tackles: Tying of hooks (Hooks, swivels, lures, knot etc) and swift unhooking fishes from hook.

10. Compliance – Compliance to instruction from supervisors and management
 

The suitable candidate for this position 

· Physically fit, alert and able to swim within the pond.

· Possess strong integrity and strong sense of responsibility.

· Pleasant deposition and soft skill set (able to communicate effectively in both Chinese or English)

· Able to work in hash outdoor environment.

· Passion for marine environment.

· Able to take instruction from supervisors and Management.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Basic knowledge of aquaculture, fish species, and water management.

2. Ability to work outdoors independently in varying weather conditions.

3. Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks.

4. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

5. Good communication and customer service skills.

6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

7. Basic know on operating electronic devices such pump, POS system, tackle etc.

Work Environment

1. Outdoor work environment, with exposure to varying weather conditions.

2. Physical demands of lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

3. Potential exposure to chemicals, fish waste, and other aquatic hazards.

4. Shift work
